Talking Points
* Whoever in McDonough, Georgia is googling for Danielle Pafunda's appearance on this week's Crush List it's here. When she said the word "husband" toward the end of her reading at the 4 Faced Liar my heart fell out of my ass. She coulda been a contender for the giant stuffed panda that is my soul.* Kayne West likes pornography. Who doesn't? I don't like pictures as much as I like dirty stories. Any man in America who tells you they don't like pornography is lying. Kinda like any man in Europe who says he doesn't have a girlfriend on the side. Yeah, right. Give me 10 minutes and all access and I can find your man's porn stash. No problem. Better hide that laptop, fellas.
* I might give Claudia Rankine a pass on that ridiculous blurb from that trainwreck Sarabande Legitimate Dangers anthology. She could have written it without reading the anthology, it might have been done before the anthology was done. It is an unspecific blurb about unspecific geniuses that will save us. Claudia Rankine still however bores the shit out of me when she reads her poems aloud. Can you imagine the pure unadulturated hell of having to hear all the contributors of this anthology read their entries back to back in one sitting? There are only 10 people in the entire thing I could stand to hear read ever again in my life. There would be little oasises of actual McSweeney genius and Beckman charm, etc between just painful fingernails-on-chalkboard ugh. And how is Aimee Nezhukumatathil not in this thing? Yes, I am still completely in love with Aimee Nezhukumatathil. Just typing her name is a sexy experience for me. If she had one of those hyphenated names it would be Nezhukumatathil-Luckiestmanalive. I only mention it because googlers and technoratiers keep coming by. So hello. Because if [pick anyone] is my salvation I would rather suffer and suffer forever. I'm surprised they didn't pick any Soft Skull authors...
* The best Garfield-ku I've been able to make (thanks for the link, robot):
I declare this house mouse free
I fell down sixty-three times but I still like them
