* From the New York Times: "The day was strikingly peaceful, even in areas normally beset by violence...American command here reported only 35 armed attacks, about half the daily average, with only 14 against polling centers." The perception is the reality, right? Some insurgents took the day off to vote. Therefore: democracy works!!

* I will refer to The Million Poems Show as "The Million" just as the first twenty minutes of commericals at the movies is called "The Twenty." Best/worst disembodied punchline to a joke that wasn't used? "Jorie has the Lindbergh baby hidden in her hair."
* Nomar, come to New York. I would actually buy a Nomar Yankees jerseyshirt and wear it proudly. #5 is already retired oh superstitious one.
